Hollywood Rankings combines publicly available industry data with an independent ranking methodology. The project does not create the underlying factual data, but compiles information from multiple trusted sources and applies a consistent methodology to produce original rankings.

Movie Data

Domestic box office figures are compiled from publicly available industry databases and historical box office records. Domestic box office is used consistently across all years to ensure fair comparisons across different eras of cinema.

Award Data

Award nominations and wins are compiled from publicly available records provided by the respective organizations and other reputable industry sources. These data are used as one component of the overall ranking methodology.

Biographical Data

Basic actor information, including birth dates and nationalities, is compiled from publicly available reference sources.

Methodology

While the underlying data are collected from public sources, the Hollywood Rankings methodology is entirely independent. The ranking system has been developed specifically for this project to provide a consistent and objective evaluation of long-term acting careers.
